The Counselling Process
The counselling process is a unique relationship that allows clients to explore their emotions and experiences with a non-judgemental professional, free from discrimination, where the counsellor honours the individuality of their client. Counselling helps clients to improve their mental, physical and emotional health, while encouraging positive change and growth.
Please be aware that it is not uncommon for things to get worse before they get better, counselling is beneficial in many different ways, however some risks are involved, for example, clients may feel overcome by negative emotions when they discuss traumatic experiences, but please feel reassured that I am specially trained to ensure that these risks are minimised and I will assist you through this process.
It is important to note that in order for counselling to be most successful, you are required to be an active participant where you put effort into the process and work at applying the skills you’ve learnt in counselling into your daily life.
